Coming out

What is coming out in the first place?

Recently it is used in the sense that we can confidentially disclose secrets on a daily basis.
Sometimes it is also called Kamua or a cam-out.
This is a language born in the United States, it is said that it is a word born in the sense that you call a person who is concealing what is gay as a closet and put yourself out of that closet .
In the United States, it mean that you are open to live as a gay but in Japan it seems this word has a different meaning.
In Japan, it seems that it is used when you disclose sexual orientation etc to a specific opponent.



You do not have to come out!

It is up to the LGBT person to decide whether to make a coming out or not!
Coming out is important for obtaining understanding and support from the surroundings, but it is common that it creates a roadblock for the person who did coming out.
It requires lots of courages to come out.
But don't you think that people who confine themselves have courages to confine, too?

According to a questionnaire survey of LGBT parties by NHK, there are more than 40% of those who have comed out with less than 10 people.
Moreover, it seems that a majority is not able to coming out to familiar people such as family members and colleagues in the workplace.
It may affect health as well. The surrounding environment is important for the parties not to suffer or suffer about coming out.
