Current Situation of Heatstroke and Hypothesis
406314 people This is the number of heatstroke patients by EMS (Emergency Medical Service) subject to survey, which is eight years, from 2010 to 2017(*).
Please look at the breakdown of the number of heatstroke patients by EMS for the eight years. You can see that the patients hold varieties both in generations and regions. The age categories defined that juveniles is from 7 years old to under 18 years old, adults is from 18 years old to under 65 years old, elders is 65 years old or more, and others includes infants and newborns under 7 years old.
(* For the convenience of data presented by FDMA, Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, we used the period that is from June 1st to September 30th from 2010 to 2014, and from May 1st to September 30th from 2015 to 2017. In addition, we decided to use data after 2010 because of the lack of sufficient data in those years. )
Based on the facts that this graph indicate, where you can see the heatstroke patients varies place to place and age to age, we posit the following hypothesis.
Analysis of segmentation by region and by age is necessary in order to reduce the heatstroke patients and to raise its awareness.
Therefore, we decided to examine the characteristics of each age group associating it with exertion and non-exertion. We also analyzed at the local level.
