Everyone has a risk of getting heatstroke. To prevent it, it is important to have awareness of crisis against heatstroke to pay more careful attention to on a daily basis. We would like to introduce several strategies. Please practice by all means.
Strategy 1:Keep yourself fit in hot season
In order to prevent yourself from heatstroke, it is necessary to make a strong body against heat. Let's prepare your body to the heat before the temperature rises.
・Sleep Rhythm
Humidity is one of the reasons that cause sleeplessness. People sweat while they are sleeping, but the sweat will not dry when the environment is too humid. Let's lower the humidity by changing the bedding frequently. It is important to make the sleeping environment cool and comfortable.
・Exercise moderately
Be tough against the heat by exercising moderately. Exercising moderately such as taking a walk before rainy season begins, can help you get accustomed to the heat.
・Take salt moderately
People lose salt when they sweat. To maintain your body function when you sweat you need to supply salt appropriately. It is no needs to replenish it in large quantities, but it is essential to supply it moderately.
Strategies 2:Protect our body from heat in situations that requires attention
An environment with hot weather or without air-conditioning equipment increases the risk of heatstroke. How to protect yourself from the heat by yourself is important. Drink water and take a break frequently.
・Carry a drink
Carry water bottles everywhere so that you can frequently supply water. Our daily moisture ingress and egress is about 2.5Ⅼ. It means that you have to take at least 1.2L water every day. When you exercise or work under scorching sun, take water consciously more than 1.2L.
・Take breaks frequently
Take a break frequently in the shade whenever you are in a hot temperature. Do not burnout yourself.
・Check WBGT

Strategies 3:Let's prevent the heat in daily life
By preventing even a little heat in your daily life, the risk of getting heatstroke can be significantly decreased. You will be able to feel comfortable easily by choosing what you wear and by using air conditioning properly.
・Adjust the temperature in the room
The room’s temperature indication of the summer is 28℃. Please remember that setting the air conditioner at 28℃ alone doesn't make the temperature 28℃. (* In order to make room temperature 28℃ , you may need to set air conditioner lower than 28℃ .) Use a fan or air conditioner to lower the room temperature. You should not put up with the uncomfortable heat.
・Wear clothes suitable for the temperature
Wear clothes with materials that absorb sweat well such as cotton, and with things that are breathable such as hemp. You can adjust the heat you feel simply by changing clothes.
・Avoid sunshine
Avoid direct sunlight by escaping in the shade, wearing a hat, rubbing a parasol, and so on. Even at the same temperature, there is a significant difference, for example, the surface temperature of the road is different by about 20℃ between in the shade and sunny direction. Just by avoiding direct sunlight, the feeling temperature changes greatly.
