There are many types and methods of fake news, ranging from simply misinterpreting a word or phrase and spreading it, to intentionally using a lie to attract attention to an article.
In order to make fake news more accessible to a wider audience, we have divided fake news into three grades of "falsehood" and eight modus operandi. Based on the classification of fake news as determined by the UK DCMS House of Commons and FirstDraft, a non-profit organization formerly founded at Harvard University, we fused them together to define the grades.
The eight M.O.s are categorized by grade, with the grade of falsehood (the percentage of falsehood in the information) increasing from Grade 1.Grade 1 consists of one M.O., Grade 2 consists of six M.O.s, and Grade 3 consists of one M.O.
Grade 1 refers to unintentional errors in writing, etc., or articles and information created for the purpose of humor. Simply put, it is information that is made without malice and is wrong.
Grade 2 refers to information that is intentionally created and partially wrong. Since this is fake news that is easy for anyone to create, there are many different ways to do this. For example, there is a technique called "misreading. This is the possibility of deceiving people by misleading them about a subject or individual. Other examples include "spoofing," in which the URL of a website is rewritten to be something completely different from the source of the information.
Grade 3 refers to information that is completely false. This means that all the information on the site is made up of lies and is designed to cause damage to people.
I have already mentioned two of the eight M.O.s, but the remaining six M.O.s are also divided into different grades. Let's take a closer look at what kind of fake news is being created using what kind of M.O.
