About the Institute



 
The Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Laboratory facility not only generates electricity, but also has many other facilities, including a coral research facility and a facility for cultivating sea grapes and tiger prawns. On this page we'll show you some of those facilities!

All these facilities use surface water and deep sea water drawn from the sea. The water is not only used for power generation, but is also utilised in the facilities to reduce waste as much as possible. I think this is a very appropriate theme for the future of energy! The water is also used for cooling in the research centre, and there are plans to use it for coral research, so we can expect to see it used in many other situations in the future. Incidentally, I've included a diagram explaining in the image below what surface water and deep ocean water or deep ocean water are on this page!

2022/7/2     Started building a website.
