Diglossia is the problem which the present-day character has.
Digloussia means that one nation’s spoken language and a character is different
each
other,they have finally two types of them on the national scale.
This is a high language (H form) used at public situation, and a language
(L form) used at
such as a home. Incidentally it will be called a “bilingual” if the phenomenon
same as this
happens in the individual range. Although it said usually only about language,
It thinks relation between language and a character here.
▲Difference between "L" and "H"
There are mainly two kinds of these. One is the society which recognizes
the forms of
a formal language (H form) and an informal language (L form), and it is a
case where
it is said that only the right language is used in written form. Other is
the case that the
evolution of the written word was slow and it was left although vernacular
has evolved.
Since there are these differences, the following two problems arise.
1. The character is obscure and it becomes difficult to treat it.
2. Communicating to a child becomes difficult.
Even if the former problem can be permitted,the latter one is not. Because
it is the fact of preventing the growth of the society because of so much
time and money has to be spent for learning language.This is the problem
about which it argues as diglossia.
If such an awareness of the issues permeates society widely, spelling reform
(a character is djusted to language) will take place to improve a situation somehow.
However, it is thought that this trial does not work.
