Upcycle is a kind of recycle. It is to remake old products by making good use of their material, which is supposed to be discarded. In addition, the products can become more fashionable.
Recycle means putting used objects or materials through a special process so that they can be used again.(Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English 5th Edition) Now, we are under obligation to recycle household appliance, packing material, and so on. However, there isn't a law concerning the recycling clothes. So, clothes are only collected by local governments or volunteer organizations now.
One of the examples of upcycle is making a sofa from a bathtub, which is a large-scale action. But there are also things to try at ease. For example, making flowerpots from boots. It can reduces the amount of garbage for companies to sell attractive products by selling upcycle.
For example, a company makes bags from disused hemp sacks, which are used when coffee beans are imported. Hemp sacks are origonal and fancy. So, we can get the only bags, because they are different between each other.
