Q. What kind of classes did you have during temporary school closure?

A. Every Monday to Friday, we delivered about 4 lessons of 15 minutes each on YouTube.
Also, once a week, we held an online morning assembly with our homeroom teacher and Meet in each class.

Q. What was the difficult point in that class?

A. It was my first time to "teach classes online", so everything was groping.
I couldn't hear the direct opinions of the students, so it was difficult to grasp the demand.

Q. Nationally, I felt that real-time online lessons using Zoom were the mainstream. Why did you dare to use YouTube?

A. It's true that Zoom is closer to the format of regular school lessons than YouTube. However, it still cannot be exactly the same as in regular classes.
That's why I decided to use YouTube and take advantage of the "merits of video" such as rewinding and pausing.

Q. Have you been taking advantage of this closed period initiative even after returning to regular classes?

A. During the school holidays, we had a system in which students were asked to submit assignments online using an application.
We still use the system as part of redoing quizzes and submitting assignments.

We are also working on "taking a video of a science experiment using a tablet device, editing it at home, and submitting it."
Through this task, I can look back on the experiment many times, which leads to a good review.

In high school class, we also say, "Post the class taken by the teacher in advance on YouTube, and each student will watch and study it, and practice at school."

Even if regular lessons resume, we are aiming for better lessons by taking advantage of the benefits gained from online lessons.
