What is ESG investing?

We paid attention to ESG investing.ESG comes from the initial letters of Environmental,Social and Governance.

1. Why has ESG investing been paid attention?
The United Nations proposed the view that it's recommended to attach importance to ESG which contributes the sustainable international community.

2. Combination of SRI and CSR
ESG is based on Socially Responsible Investment(SRI) and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR).

3. Attention in the world
Recently 30% of companies in the world have considered ESG investing, and 60% in America especially. The cost in 2017 is twice as much as in 2012. This is equivalent to 2500 trillion yen. The cost is equivalent to quarter of investment in the world, so it is obvious that ESG investing has been paid attention.

4. Current situation in Japan
The proportion of investment funds is 52.6% in Europe, 21.6% in America, and 39.8% in Canada.However in Japan it is only 3.4%. It indicates the difference of consciousness between Japan and other countries.

These information tells us that we have to know the background of companies if you invest them.
