Foreign countries and Japan
In Japan, there are about 6.46 million tons of food loss produced. This is 2
times the amount of the World Food Programme. In addition, Japans self
sufficiency rate is 39%, and this is very low compared to other developed
countries. This means Japan is in the position to be responsible of there
floods. However the current situation shows that we are not responsible
enough. For example, not many people knows about food banks because
there are not much of them, and the knowledge of food loss it self is not
spread enough. This is why we paid attention to food loss and made this
website. We want to show the Japanese consumers the current situation of
food loss, and give some ideas how to make actions.


Consumers and companies
Consumers and companies are in a very tight relationship. This means the consumers give massive effects on food companies.
As we kept researching about food loss, we found out that the knowledge of ESG investment and CSR is very low even though these give informations of the food companies situation. We thought if consumers change and make an action we can reduce food loss and make a sustainable society.
