1916 “The Century of the Child” translated into Japanese
“The Century of the Child,” written by Ellen Key in the last year of the 19th century, caused a great international sensation and was translated into Japanese from the German edition in 1906 and from the English edition in 1916. This book influenced the child-centered educational revolutionary movement of the Taisho era, and the aforementioned “From Children” slogan spread in Japan as well.
