4.If you have a chance to get a dog or cat, would you buy it at a pet store or take it in at a shelter? (If you currently own a dog or cat, where did you get it?)
5.Why is that?
About 45% of the respondents wanted to buy a pet from a pet store, which was higher than the percentage for shelters. They said that they wanted to keep animals which are clean and cute, and that they wanted to raise them from the time they were babies. It seems that many people are worried about the management system of shelters.
Some didn't even know about animal shelters.
I also want people to know that there are kittens and puppies in shelters, and that they are safe because they are properly operated and health checked.
There were many people who chose the shelter because they wanted to save animals from being killed. There were also people who chose not to keep pets because they were sad to say goodbye or they didn't like animals.
6.Check all that you have heard about measures to combat pet problems and what we can do about it.
Many knew about spay/neuter surgery and the fact that you can adopt animals in public health center.
Some people say they don't feed stray cats. Stray cats are self-reliant, so don't worry!
I figured if more people knew about microchipping and law-related measures, of which awareness was less than half, it would help prevent pet problems before they happen!
