How to Prevent Abuse

What actions are considered abuse? Some owners might be abusing their pets unintentionally.
There is more than kicking and punching. I want owners to know that.

Types of Abuse

There are two types of animal abuse.

1. Intentional Abuse

This means doing something "You cannot do".
For example,

  • Violating your pet physically
  • Scaring your pet
  • 2. Neglect

This means not doing something "You are supposed to"

  • Not providing the necessary care and health care
(Not feeding food or keeping it unchanged for days at a time, leaving nails and hair fully grown, etc.)
  • Don't Treat for Disease
(Don't take them to veterinary care despite illness or injury)
  • Keep them in a poor environment
(Feces and urine, loose hair, garbage, left behind, confined in a small cage, etc.)
  • These things are considered.

    Summary

When you hear the word "Abuse" you may think they are intentional.
However, not all abuse involves physical punishment. Not providing the proper care would also be considered abuse.
If you are entrusted with the "life" of an animal, you are responsible for the proper environment and care of the animal.
