Some of you may be surprised to learn that there are many other pet problems besides the often-heard ones of euthanasia and animal hoarding. What was particularly surprising to us in our research was that even pet stores and breeders, who are supposed to specialize in pets, sometimes violate the health and happiness of pets.
The pet issue is a problem that cannot be solved unless society as a whole faces it. If you don't have a pet, think about if you get one in the future. For those who do have pets, it may be a good idea to reconsider the way you interact with your pets or to welcome a new pet.
