Be Kind to Animals Week is a period of time set aside to let the public know about animal welfare and proper animal care. In other words "Let's all think about how to create a better relationship between animals and people" and is set for September 20-26 every year. During this period, the national and local governments cooperate to hold various events. One of the most famous is the Be Kind to Animals Festival, which is held every year by the Central Committee for Be Kind to Animals Week, selected by the Ministry of the Environment and other organizations. Be Kind to Animals Festival is the main event of Be Kind to Animals Week. It has been held since 1977 in cooperation with related organizations. So it's been going on for 44 years already!This year's event was held online due to covid-19, but the content was very educational, including awarding of prize-winning works of slogans related to animal protection, lectures and panel discussions by experts.
Online Symposium
We watched the Animal Protection Online Symposium 2021, which was held online.
This year's theme was "Our Future with Pets."The number of people who own pets has increased due to covid-19, and this has led to an increase in pest problems such as barking and accidents to children.
We felt the need to rethink the relationship between humans and pets. We also realized the depth of the relationship between humans and animals, as there are transportation systems in the world that allow pets to ride on them, and there are dogs that work as therapy dogs in medical facilities and educational institutions such as universities.
Unfortunately, we were not able to see all of it but it was still a very meaningful time.
