Rabies has existed for a long time, but the first proper record of the disease in Japan was confirmed in the Edo period.

The Effect of the Law
With the birth of the current "Rabies Prevention Law," the number of dogs infected with rabies has steadily decreased, and after only seven years, the number of dogs infected with rabies was zero.
