Q1. How does your company think about food loss?
A. Our company does not only work in the food processing industry, but also in the livestock industry.
We don't buy the meat, but process the meat we grow ourselves, so we have a strong desire not to waste it.
"Treasure the bounty of life" is also mentioned in the company motto.
Q2.What happens to items that the company cannot ship?
A. Of course, it can be discarded, but it can also be donated to a food bank.
When we donate to a food bank, we ask that the food bank keep allergies under control.
Various ingredients are used for food, and one ingredient can be fatal.
In this regard, it is necessary for all those involved in the distribution of food,
such as companies and food banks, to take care of it.
As a company, we do not just "donate because we have leftovers",
but we donate with the idea of "passing the baton of food" to the people who will receive the food.
Q3.Is there anything else your company does to prevent food loss?
A. The company provides on-site classes at high schools and vocational schools.
Demonstrations of meat handling and garnishing are performed so that
students can feel the blessings of life and have future generations take an interest in food.
We also explain the spirit of "itadakimasu" and "gochisousama".
"Itadakimasu" and "Gochisousama" are to be grateful for the blessing of
life and being able to eat. We hope that students don't forget this feeling when they eat.
Q4. Please tell us your thoughts about food waste.
A. When eating out, I may end up ordering more than I can eat or something I can't eat.
However, since I am in the position of making food, I try to cherish the food made by others and avoid food loss.
We make food with the hope that you will eat it to the end, and that you will be happy if you think it is delicious.
I would like you to remember the people who make food with these thoughts
in mind and to eat with gratitude for being able to eat food.
