Impression

　I have always been interested in psychology and psychosis. So I decided to participate in this web contest to learn more about it.

　As I researched the content of the website, my perception of mental illness changed dramatically. I used to think that mental illness was one in hundreds and that I was far away from it. However, I now know that many cases are caused by stress, which is a familiar phenomenon, and that it is difficult to recognize. I strongly felt that ”there may have been people suffering from psychosis that I was unaware of”. I strongly felt this way.

　You may think that psychosis is a disease of the mind and a matter of feelings. However, not a few are caused by physical abnormalities. In such cases, appropriate treatment must be taken at a specialized hospital. I believe that some people do not get tested for psychosis because they assume that it is caused by psychological aspects. In fact, I was very surprised when I learned that psychosis can be identified by brain tests and blood tests. In one of the interviews I had with the doctor, he told me that there were cases in which the patients were informed that it was a psychological problem, but in fact, it was a physical problem. So, I hope that this website will help spread awareness of mental illness. And I sincerely hope that even one person will be saved.
