PTSD
What is PTSD?
It is a traumatic experience of strong fear, such as life or death,
which causes strong anxiety, fear, helplessness, and nightmares, and is recalled more than one month later, regardless of one's will.
It is not only a life or death matter, but also experiences of rape, combat, childhood abuse,
and other severe fearful experiences can put a person at risk for PTSD. Generally, people who experience a strong sense of fear experience anxiety, insomnia,
and heart palpitations, but it is often transient.
In addition, the experience of too great fear or shock can cause mental instability, as the person is unable to calm down and sort things out when it is recalled.
Symptoms
・Flashbacks
・Emotional numbing to avoid suffering from painful memories
・Behavioral changes, such as avoiding situations or places that remind them of the memory
・Decreased concentration, insomnia and loss of appetite
More than 80% of PTSD patients have comorbidities with other psychoses. One-time items such as violence and rape are easy to treat. In contrast, long-term conditions such as abuse and bullying are difficult to completely resolve and are still being studied.
If you think it is PTSD..
PTSD is caused by people who hold on to the past for a long time. However, the past cannot be changed, and thinking about it alone all the time will not solve anything. It is important to talk to people around you and specialists to try to make your future as bright as possible.
