Interviewed by Mitsubishi Electric MERL

On August 26, we had the pleasure of interviewing Mitsubishi Electric's MERL online, which is conducting research on printing satellite antennas in space.

MERL is a Mitsubishi Electric research laboratory located in Massachusetts, U.S.A., that conducts a variety of research including modeling & simulation, signal processing, and AI techniques.

In this interview, we talked to Avishai and Bill, who are conducting research at MERL on the creation of satellite antennas using 3D printers, in English about their research.

When we asked Mitsubishi Electric for an interview about satellite antennas, we had no idea that we would be able to speak directly with someone from an overseas research institute, so we were really impressed when they offered to do the interview in English. And I wondered if our English skills would be sufficient...

Although the interview was conducted in English with native English speakers whom we had never met before, and with the help of an interpreter from Mitsubishi Electric and an English teacher from our school, we were very nervous before the interview. We had some trouble during the interview, such as the audio being lost due to our mistake, but it was a relief that we could finish the interview without any problems!!

Details of our research and interviews are presented in the following pages. Please take a look.
