The Way of the Target - Result

Hello! This is Riku.

Creater's Blog for 9/15.

In my last issue, I wrote about how I had created a target for a shooting game to be used at a cultural festival, and in the process, I connected it with a mathematical formula.

In this issue, I would like to write about the results and what we are looking forward to in the future.

The result is a parabolic target with a clean bottom.

Here is a picture of it, and surprisingly, it is one of my favorites among the works I have made so far.

We are trying to wrap aluminum foil around the inside to Secure some light.

The solid here represents a parabola on Fusion 360, and then the parabola is rotated so that the light entering in parallel is concentrated close to a single point.

However, even this seemingly perfect plan has its drawbacks.

That is the light is not stable.

Even with a 3D printer, the light is not necessarily fixed to a single point when it is reflected because it is still just a stack of lines. Therefore, the light is not stable.

I will write about my approach to this issue in my next Creater'd Blog.

See you next time!
